CULTURE, SPORT – MOUNTAIN AND LAKE

Millstätter See experience with lake and mountain contact.

The Millstätter See region is the setting where a wide variety of events ensure excitement, fun and adventure. The region around Lake Millstatt offers a variety of cultural events like the historical Salamanca festival in Spittal, the knights’ game at the Sommeregg Castle, the Festival for Classic Music in Millstatt and the Comedy theater festival in the gorgeous atmosphere of the Renaissance Porcia Castle.

For sportspeople the modernised cycle route around the Lake Millstatt offers an alternate possibility to discover the wonderful area. The 33 km long cycle path around the lake has just been completed. So, off to the pedals.

Choral and orchestral works as well as chamber music from all epochs of music history are on the program of the Millstatt Music Weeks.

The Porcia Comedy Plays in Spittal an der Drau are funnier, but just as top-class. Comedies framed by the backdrop of the magnificent arcaded inner courtyard of the Renaissance castle of Porcia determine the city’s cultural summer.
